End of October Fun

Kenny's Birthday
NOTE: I am new at making collages for Blogger, so that is why this post is a mess.

Kenny's birthday was on October 27th and unfortunately he had to work. Originally he had the day before, the day of, and the day after his birthday off, but his work scheduled training on his birthday. :(

When he got home from work we ate Hooters style hot wings that I made, potato skins, and I can't remember what else. And I made him his favorite cake, Skor Cake. Logan was fascinated by all the lit candles!

Two weekends before his birthday Kenny went hunting and I told him that would be his birthday present this year since we wouldn't be able to afford much else. But I felt bad that I didn't have anything tangible to give him for his birthday. I had wanted to make him a "Carhartt" blanket (as opposed to a "Levi" blanket) for a long time, so I thought this would be the perfect time. So about a week before his birthday I started cutting out squares from all his old work pants from when he did construction. I had everything done except for most of the binding. But I was able to give him a mostly-done blanket on his birthday. He was pretty surprised and excited about it. Over the next few days I was able to finish the binding on it and now it's at the foot of our bed. :)

Halloween
Our Halloween weekend wasn't too exciting since Kenny had to work the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Halloween. However, Friday night we were able to carve pumpkins. We don't have any pictures of Logan as we carved the pumpkins because he was tired and cranky so we just put him to bed. Anyway, here are our pumpkins (I drew all the designs, and we didn't have a pumpkin carving kit so these are all done with knives we had around the house).

A Haunted House

On Halloween I decided to make a special Halloween dinner and invite a our friends/neighbors over. I forgot to take pictures of all of us and all of the dinner I made. I made a
n elk stew in a pumpkin, some orange cranberry bread, some pumpkin fruit dip, and for dessert I made an apple cider topping for vanilla ice cream. All of this was from scratch and it turned out delicious!

And here are the pictures I'm sure you've all been waiting for. Logan was so cute in his pumpkin costume.
