I have been tired of all the shedding that the cats do, so I thought that if I gave them all a bath that it would eliminate some of the shedding. Well, I don't think it did much good and now I have a whole bunch of angry cats!

3. Who said I love you first? Kenny did. He was heading out on a weekend bow hunting trip and as he left he told me he loved me.

4. How long did you date? We met in July, were engaged the following May, and married the following August

5. Where did he propose? Up Scout Mountain at a natural spring where we used to get water (since Poky water is nasty!)

6. Who is taller? Kenny, but not by much.

7. Who is smarter? Kenny is--things just naturally make sense to him. I have to study, study, study!

8. Who does the laundry? Both of us do

9. Who pays the bills? We both do

10. Who mows the lawn? We both do, but mostly Kenny does--he enjoys mowing our little lawn

11. Who cooks dinner? Lately it's been Kenny--and he does a really good job! But we both cook.

My Birthday

Overall I had a good birthday yesterday. I went to my classes in the morning, which I found out I got 100% on my last A & P quiz, and I was 3 points shy from getting an A on my Microbiology test, out of 310 points. I tried to argue a couple of questions that I felt were right that he marked wrong, and I think he would have bumped my grade up to an A had he not looked up my overall grade which is a 95%. I wrote half of my Micro Lab Report in the afternoon, and worked for a few hours at the Animal Hospital, then in the evening Kenny and I went to a fancy-schmancy restaurant that's new here in Pocatello called Senangs (spell?). Did I mention that it was free? :) We went to listen to a presentation for a new vaccine for Upper Respiratory Diseases in Canine's. As a staff member at Community Animal Hospital I could go and bring one guest, plus I get 2 Continuing Education credits for going (on top of the free fancy-schmancy dinner). The presentation was okay, but now I get to talk about the food. Since there were quite a few people at this presentation there was only one option for Salad, 3 Entree options, and 3 Dessert options. Okay, most of the menu I couldn't pronounce, let alone understand what type of food I was getting. The salad had on it Duck, dried apricots, and balsamic vinegarette. I got the grilled chicken with a weird type of rice and pesto type sauce (the chicken was a small chicken leg with the skin, bone, and fat still in/on it), and mini zucchini (about 3-4 inches long) that were bitter, and a type of other vegetable. I think it was a different type of broccoli and Kenny thinks it was an oversprouted asparagus. We are not sure. The entree alone was $18, and Kenny's was $26 (he got the steak). Dessert was good, we got a sort of mixed berry on top of I think a type of shortbread. I was hoping that they would make it look pretty like you see on TV, but it was just in this little tiny bowl, kind of shoved in there. The vet I work for tried to get the waiters to put a birthday candle in my dessert, but apparently they don't do that. Kenny and I figured that if we were to pay for our meal, plus gratuity, we would have paid about $100 just for our meal. WOW!!! Honestly I will eat at Chilis, Applebees, Texas Roadhouse, Senor Iguanas, etc. anyday over that! I was actually still somewhat hungry when we got home, so we ate the Skor cake that Kenny made me for my birthday--delicious!!! :) It was overall a good birthday though.

Things are looking up. . .

I took my 3rd Anat. & Phys. test and the first half of my 3rd Microbiology test last Friday, and the second half of my Micro test on Monday (the material was over EIGHT chapters, so my professor split it up over 2 classes periods). I got my A & P test back and I got a B on it!!!!!! I am pretty excited considering I bombed the first two exams. In Micro I got a high A on my first exam and a high C on my second exam, but I think I got a high B or a low A on this last exam. I am still hoping to pull an A off overall in Micro and really praying for a C in A & P. That has to be the hardest class I have ever taken (besides Genetics) and I really need to pass with a C so everyone pray that I do well on the rest of my quizzes and my final exam. :)

I will be taking Immulogy and Pathomicrobiology this summer, and I just registered for my CLS classes for the Fall. I will be taking Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Immunology/Transfusion, and Molecular Lab Methods. That's 17 credits! I have never taken that many credits at one time before; at most I have taken 15 and I didn't do very well that semester. Hopefully all will go well though. Everyone is saying that there is a huge future for Microbiology and Clinical Lab Science majors now. Microorganisms are constantly altering themselves, uptaking toxic DNA, and making themselves resistant to the antibiotics, so research is constant--trying to basically "outsmart" these organisms.

Our new Toyota 4-Runner

Our friends Grant and Shelley decided to put a bigger and more powerful engine in their 4-Runner, so they asked us if we wanted their engine in exchange for our labor finishing a couple of rooms in their basement. We just had to find a 4-Runner with a blown engine and Grant and Kenny would swap out the engines. By the way, Grant specializes in Toyota mechanics, so they weren't going into this blindly. We found a body with brand new tires and rims for $1500, which was pretty good considering the tires and rims are worth about $1000 (tires for it are $160, w/o the rim). We just have to finish their 2 basement rooms now. We really like it so far. It is a standard, so I have to get over my fear of the stick shift and just drive. I get so embarassed when I stall it at a light. This is replacing the VW Bug. It is 4-wheel drive and can do most of the things our truck does, and the gas and gas mileage is better. :) Plus it has four doors, so if we still have it when we have kids it will be a lot easier to get a baby in and out (we are not announcing anything, just thinking ahead).

AHHHH MOAB. . .

Sorry to those of you who have already viewed my blog before I was finished. I started it hoping to be done before I went to work, but I didn't quite make it. So here is the story of my weekend. We left Thursday afternoon/evening, picked up our four friends (Shelley and her husband Grant, Grant's brother Nathan, and Nathan's roommate Cole) in Provo, and the six of us went to Moab. We got there kind of late so we just camped in the first place we found. In the morning we packed up and did some off-roading and some repelling. We found a really great camping spot for Friday night because it had the view of the canyon--the start of the Grand Canyon. Saturday we did more off-roading and found a different camping spot that was really nice too. Sunday we just gradually made our way back home and listened to Conference as the radio stations permitted. It was a fun trip and we hope to go back again this summer. Saturday night. Grant did a little repelling Friday night (yes, at night) down the canyon because the wind blew Cole's sleeping pad down about 120 feet. They took all the precautions they could, but in my opinion it was a stupid thrill just to retrieve a $10 pad that Cole didn't care for anyway. At this point in the picture Grand was most of the way up and was taking a break before finishing the climb.

The piromaniacs of the group thought it would be funny to stick a shaken up pop can in the fire to see what it would do. If you look closely to the left you can see some of the pop spraying as the can blew up. Boys never truly grow up do they? ;)

Only a couple of hours into off-roading we punctured the inner sidewall of the rear passenger side tire. Luckily our friends Grant and Shelley gave us their spare tire the day before and we were smart enough to pick it up and bring it with us!
